Why I am a Rotarian by Professor Peter Diepold DG 11/12 1800

In 1954, as a German exchange student to the US, the RC Waltham, MA helped us high school students raise $ 2.700 by selling one-dollar "Shares in Democracy" in order to continue the exchange program. I was impressed by the spirit of helping young people help themselves and of furthering understanding between nations. Later on the RC Waltham made it possible for me to attend Brandeis and Yale Universities. Ever since I had hoped to become a Rotarian myself.

Prof. Peter Diepold, Past President RC Göttingen, Governor 11/12 Distrikt D-1800. peter@diepold.de  (RGHF member since 2009)
