RIP Jim Lacy 1998-1999
James L. Lacy is chairman of the board of The Gilliam Candy Brands, Inc., a confection manufacturer with plants in Kentucky, New York, Kansas, and Georgia.

A Rotarian since 1964, he is a member and past president of the Cookeville Rotary Club and has led a Group Study Exchange team to Great Britain. He has served Rotary International (RI) as a district governor, committee member and chairman, national coordinator for Rotary's PolioPlus campaign, and delegate to the RI Council on Legislation. He also has served as an International Assembly instructor, an assistant moderator for the 1991 RI International Assembly, moderator for the 1992 International Assembly, and member of the 1994-95 RI Nominating Committee for President. Jim is a recipient of The Rotary Foundation's Citation for Meritorious Service for his support of its educational and humanitarian programs.
Long active in government service, Jim has served on the Chamber of Commerce and the Putnam County local governmental body. He also served two terms as a state representative in the Tennessee General Assembly. In his spare time, he found time to manage and coach in Cookeville's Little League baseball program for 17 years. Jim and his wife, Claudine, both Paul Harris Fellows and Rotary Foundation Benefactors, have a son, Bill, and daughter-in-law, Susie, also Paul Harris Fellows and Rotary Foundation Benefactors.
