There is some controversy about the origin of the quotation because, although the name of the 19th century American philosopher RALPH WALDO EMERSON appears on the plaque, it is generally attributed nowadays to ALI-IBN-ABI-TALIB (602-661) from his work 'A Hundred Sayings' |
