This is a small collection of colour prints which are souvenirs of Paul Harris' visit to New Zealand in 1935. Item on left is marked "Life is Happy". The Auckland Rotary Club have had these confirmed by the Auckland Art Gallery Manager as prints of Maoris by C.F.Goldie.
Charles Frederick Goldie (1870-1947) was a well-known New Zealand artist, famous for his portrayal of MaŻori dignitaries. From 1901 he made field trips to meet, sketch and photograph MaŻori people in their own locations, and he also paid MaŻori visitors to Auckland to sit for him. Most of these were chiefs visiting the Native Land Court. This attribution has been confirmed by the R.C. of Wellington.
