World Fellowship of Rotarian Gourmets

On January 14, 1990, four (4) members and their spouses from the neighboring Rotary Clubs of Ladner and Richmond, B.C. District 5040, met informally to discuss the merits of creating a Fellowship through Fine Dining and within the mandate of Rotary International’s rules for World Fellowship Activities. One of our main criteria for such an organisation was that the membership should not be comprised solely of the members of any one Rotary Club, but rather that in the true spirit of Rotary, it should consist of members from as many different neighboring Rotary Clubs within the District. Thus it was that one year later, on April 3, 1991, with the blessing of at least four (4) District Governors from four different Districts, as required by R.I., twenty two (22) members from seven neighboring Rotary Clubs in District 5040 received approval from Rotary International and Chapter 1- Richmond, B.C. was now up and cooking!
