UN Day 2009

Rotary UN Day at the United Nations in New York on November 7, 2009 is a forum where representatives from Rotary and the United Nations get together in fellowship and service.

It was a great success with every seat sold out. RGHF was represented with a number of Rotary leaders, who are also members of RGHF.

Rotary International President and RGHF Member John Kenny together with RGHF Past Chairman Matts Ingemanson. John liked the Rotary tie that Matts wore, which is the theme tie from John’s own Rotary District 1020. It is also the Rotary District of RGHF Past Chairman Calum Thomson.

Rotary International President Elect Ray Klinginsmith is an enthusiastic member of RGHF. He is seen here with RGHF Past Chairman Matts Ingemanson, who lives in New York.

Rotary Foundation Chairman and Rotary International Past President Glenn E. Estess Sr. came to Rotary UN Day with his lovely wife Mary. Glenn and Mary are here seen with RGHF Past Chairman Matts Ingemanson. The meeting brought up happy memories from Rotary’s Centennial year 2005, when Glenn was Rotary International Centennial President and Matts was RGHF’s Centennial Chairman.

RGHF Past Chairman Matts Ingemanson together with Rotary International UN Alternate Representative Helen Reisler. Helen is also a Board Member of RGHF.

Rotary International UN Alternate Representative and RGHF Member Bill Miller is very interested in Rotary History. Bill is seen here together with Rotary Scholar Natsuko Sawaya from Japan, who immediately after the Rotary UN Day Meeting left New York for Senegal (via Bologna, Italy) to work in a baby center in Dakar.

RGHF Past Chairman Matts Ingemanson together with RGHF features subscriber and Ambassador Zina Andrianarivelo of Madagascar.
