Rotarian Action Groups, RGHF AMBASSADOR: Honorary MemberJOHN JANES EBERHARD, Q.C., Rotary Classification: Law - Barrister, Vocation: Retired Lawyer, Member - Rotary Club of London, Past Rotary International Director (2003-2005) John Eberhard has been a supporter of the history project since 2002, and became an advisor to Rotary Global History Fellowship in late November of 2005 and joined as a member of RGHF in July of 2006.

John Eberhard was a Crown Prosecutor, Judge on the Civil Aviation Tribunal and practising lawyer for 30 years. He holds the honourary designation from the Province of Ontario as Queen's Counsel (Q.C.)

Among several business pursuits, he has been the Chief Administrative Officer of the Canadian Rotary Committee for International Development (CRCID) since 2000. CRCID was established to facilitate co-operation between Rotary clubs in Canada and the Canadian government. It provides matched funds from the Canadian Government to Canadian Rotary Clubs doing World Community Service in partnership with clubs in the developing world.

He has represented several RI Presidents at district conferences. John and his partner, Fran both participated in NID's in India. Both are members of the Bequest Society and John and is a recipient of both the Rotary Foundation Certificate for Meritorious Service and the Distinguished Service Award.

John was a Director of Rotary International for the years 2003-05, convened the Zone Institutes for Zone 22 and will be the Chairman of the Board of CRCID from 2003-2007.

John and Fran have two children: Kelly, a lawyer, and Rob, a commercial designer. Fran is Professor Emeritus from the University of Western Ontario. She has been honoured with a Woman of Distinction Award. She has been both an international coach and athlete in basketball and volleyball.
