PEKIN ROTARY CLUB  was organised in June 1924 and chartered 2 months later. As a result of the war with Japan, the club was terminated at the close of 1943.  When the war was over, the club was re-admitted in March 1946 but on the rise of the Communist regime, it was again terminated in October 1951.  SHANGHAI R.C. was organised earlier in July 1919  and chartered 10 weeks later.  Like PEKIN, it was terminated, re-admitted and then terminated again on the same dates as PEKIN.
