Prepared by the district and not verified by Rotary Global History

District 2100

District 2100 includes the following areas:
- Campania
- Calabria

District 2100 was created by the split of the original Italian District called 46 and then 87. District 87 was split in 4 Districts, including District 93, later called 190 and then 210 in year 1977-78. In the rotarian year 1991-1992, District 210 became 2100, until today (see Rotary International history in Italy, by clicking here).

Nowadays (September 2008) Rotary International District 2100 is composed of 73 Rotary Clubs and 3,792 active Rotarian. It is located in the beautiful south of Italy and full of handsome landscapes and seaside.

RC NapoliThe first Rotary Club born in this District (when the district its self was still called 46, the Italian District) is Rotary Club Napoli (Naples), located in Campania region. It was formally admitted to Rotary International on January 6th, 1925.

In the Calabria region, the first Club was the one from Reggio Calabria, born in the 1948, followed by Rotary Club of Cosenza, born on 18 February 1949.

The major cities in this District are: Naples, Benevento, Avellino, Reggio Calabria, Catanzaro and Cosenza. Excepted Benevento and Avellino, they all are placed close to the Mediterranean Sea.

Il Distretto 2100 si articola nelle seguenti regioni:

- Campania

- Calabria
