District 2080 includes the following areas:

District 2080 was created by the split of the
original Italian District called 46 and then 87. District 87 was
split in 4 Districts, including District 92, later called 188 and then 208. In the
Rotarian year 1991-1992, District
208 became 2080,
until today (see Rotary International history in Italy, by clicking
here).
Nowadays (September 2008) Rotary International
District 2080 is composed of 79 Rotary Clubs. It
is located in the middle of Italy and its regions (Lazio and
Sardinia) is two of the most beautiful regions in Italy, both for
the art and the sea.
The first Rotary Club born in this District (when
the district its self was still called 46, the Italian District) is
Rotary Club Roma (Rome). It is born on December 6th 1924 and
formally admitted to Rotary International on January 6th, 1925. The
Charter was delivered to the newborn Club in the wonderful frame of
Palazzo Salviati, situated in Corso Umberto I°.
This wonderful ceremony was attended by the
Presidents of Rotary Club of Paris, Amsterdam, and Madrid, several
Ministers of the Italian Government, Ambassadors of the United
States, France and Great Britain.
The territory is simply incredible: ancient cities (both
in Lazio and Sardinia), lakes and seaside everywhere. In Lazio
region, Ostia and Fregene are two of the many seaside cities. In
Sardinia, Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo, Golfo degli Aranci and many
others make this island unique with amazing seaside.
The major District's cities are Rome and Cagliari,
respectively in Lazio and in Sardinia.
Rome is the capitol of Italy and it is called the "Eternal
City"; for sure it is one of the most beautiful city in the whole
world, full of art and ancient architecture: it was the cradle of
the Roman empire and still today it is possibile to find ancient
leavings all over.
Cagliari is the major city in Sardinia, this
wonderful island with a lovely sea. The island is probably the most
beautiful seaside in Italy.

Il Distretto 2080 si articola sulle

Il Distretto 2080 fu creato dalla
suddivisione del Distretto italiano unico, il 46 (poi chiamato 87). Quest'ultimo
Distretto fu suddiviso poi in altri 4 Distretti, compreso il 92, più tardi
chiamato 188 e poi 208. Nell'anno rotariano 1991-1992, il Distretto 208 divenne
2080, così chiamato fino ad oggi (si veda la storia del Rotary Italiano,
cliccando
qui).
Ad oggi (Settembre 2008) il Distretto 2060 è composto da 79
Rotary Club. Esso è localizzato nel centro Italia e le sue due regioni, sono tra
le più belle d'Italia, entrambe per l'arte e per il bellissimo mare che le
lambisce (e circonda, per la Sardegna).
Il primo R.C. nato in questo Distretto (quando il distretto
stesso si chiamava ancora Distretto 46, l'unico distretto italiano) è il Rotary
Club Roma. Esso nacque il 6 Dicembre del 1924 e fu formalmente ammesso al R.I.
il 6 Gennaio 1925. La consegna della Carta al nuovo Club avvenne nella
meravigliosa cornice di Palazzo Salviati, in Corso Umberto I°.
Alla cerimonia presero parte, tra gli altri, i Presidenti dei
R.C. di Parigi, Amsterdam e Madrid, alcuni ministri del Governo italiano e gli
Ambasciatori degli Stati Uniti, della Francia e della Gran Bretagna.
Il territorio è semplicemente incredibile: antiche città (sia in
Lazio sia in Sardegna), laghi e località marittime ovunque. Nel Lazio, Ostia e
Fregene sono due delle maggiori località marittime, molto ben conosciute. In
Sardegna, Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo, il Golfo degli Aranci e molti altri, fanno
di quest'isola un luogo unico con incredibili coste.
Le città più grandi del Distretto sono Roma e Cagliari,
rispettivamente in Lazio e in Sardegna.
Roma è la capitale d'Italia ed è chiamata la "Città Eterna";
sicuramente si tratta di una delle più belle città del mondo, piena d'arte e di
antichità architettoniche: fu la culla dell'Impero Romano e ancora oggi è
possibile ritrovare antichi resti dovunque.
Cagliari è il capoluogo della regione Sardegna, questa
bellissima isola con un mare incredibile. L'isola è - con ogni probabilità - la
miglior località marittima italiana.
