Major meetings and Rotary International conventions have been held in Chicago and conventions featuring Chicago Rotarians as RI presidents. Of course the first one was the organizing convention of the National Association of Rotary clubs in 1910.

1905 23 February, the first four men have a discussion

1910 The First - Held in Chicago: Paul Harris elected president

1911 Paul Harris re-elected (convention in Portland, Oregon)

1912 Paul Harris' final convention as president (Duluth, Minnesota convention)

1930 Silver Anniversary and Paul Harris makes a rare appearance

1930 First effort to document the history of the club undertaken

1938 Silvester Schiele tells The Rotarian how it all began

1939 George Hager 1938-39 president of RI.  2nd president from Chicago. (Cleveland, Ohio convention)

1944 War time convention draws less than 500 Rotarians

1945 Second Chicago War time convention draws 141, next year there will be 10,958 in Atlantic City

1954 Herb Taylor is the 3rd president

1955 23 February The Golden Jubilee is celebrated in Chicago

1955 50th anniversary convention Jean Thomson Harris bids farewell to Chicago

1980 the convention returns to Chicago

2005 Centennial Celebration
