Rotary Club of Singapore

The Rotary spark was kindled in Singapore in the year 1930. Dato (Sir) Roland Braddell became its founder President. The first Board of Directors immediately set high standards by organising the first Malayan Rotary Club's Conference in December, 6 months after its inauguration. It was at that conference that the Club received it Charter under which it now operates as Club 3360 on the roll of Rotary International. World War II smothered the Rotary flame, but after the war, in 1945, the Club started to function again with a membership of 42.

By 1952, the blaze had become a reality through our sponsorship.

The Rotary Club of Singapore is now a great grandfather Club, albeit full of vigor and ever dedicated to the principles and ideals of Rotary: Service Above Self - He Profits Most Who Serves Best.
