The Rotary Club of Miami
Miami-Dade County’s oldest and most prominent service organization.

Chartered on March 1, 1917, the history of the Rotary Club of Miami is closely interwoven with the history of our community itself. Our founding president was Dr. James Jackson, for whom Jackson Memorial Hospital was named.
Since its inception, the Rotary Club of Miami has supported hundreds of charities and touched thousands of people through its many committees and programs.
The Rotary Club of Miami has also established dozens of other Rotary Clubs in Miami-Dade, now with more than 1,000 members.

Our Motto:
 “Service Above Self”

What would Miami-Dade County be without the University of Miami, the Orange Bowl Committee, the YMCA of Greater Miami, the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, the United Way, Junior Achievement and Everglades National Park?
These are just a few of the institutions and the dozens of civic, cultural and social service organizations that were founded and developed with the help and guidance of the Rotary Club of Miami.
